Taxes
“Due to the omnipresent cost pressure for overseas postings, it is with good reason that the tax assessment is accorded such importance.”
The goal is not only to structure overseas assignments as financially optimal and cost-effective as possible, but also to be able to adhere to and map the various rules and regulations in each country. Due to the varying tax systems, this may become a challenge. In fact, some countries even have different tax years. For example, there are countries where the tax year does not run from January 1st to December 31st but instead e.g. in the United Kingdom from April 5th to April 4th.
Apart from the national statutory regulations, it is necessary to be acquainted with existing double taxation agreements and their application so that the international assignment can be structured in an optimal fashion.
CONVINUS possesses this expertise and can advise you comprehensively.
Taxes in Switzerland
Due to the 26 different cantons, there is no uniform procedure for filing tax returns.
We can assist you and your employees with the submission of tax returns in the respective canton of residence, the withholding tax correction application for weekly commuters, and with objections to tax assessments.
Our clients benefit from our expertise and our proactive approach, which pay off in the form of tax savings. We will help you optimize the income taxes of your international employees and obtain the relevant rulings from the tax authorities in cases where this is worth the effort.
With us, the tax affairs of your expats are in the best of hands.
Overseas taxes
During international assignments, taxes in the home country as well as in the host country have to be taken into account.
These foreign taxes are generally borne by the employer, but despite this, most countries now require individuals to submit a tax return. This means that a tax return must be filed in the country of assignment (host country).
We can assist by having the foreign tax returns compiled by our partners from the CONVINUS Global Network (CGN), while we take care of the coordination, so that you maintain an overview at all times. We also ensure that any additional tax burdens are then handled correctly in the payroll.
We will help you manage these tasks.
